Africa’s MIA HITS SPECIALITY

1.08.2017

After all the planning, researching, designing and testing this summer, it was a huge pleasure and relief to showcase the new MIA 6-strong line of chocolate bars for the first time at the UK Speciality & Fine Food Fair.

Running from the 3-5th September, the UK’s leading food and drink trade event attracts artisan producers from around the world who offer nibbles of their creations to discerning buyers searching for the latest must-have products for their shelves. A big thanks to Proudly Made in Africa for inviting us to present at their stand where high quality and ethically produced foods from the African continent were on display!

While we had been generating a lot of positive feedback on flavour and packaging prior to the event, it’s always a little scary when you’re face-to-face with the great and good of British retail, but we’re delighted to say the brand and chocolates went down a storm.

MIA chocolate bars are a first step in our vision for creating a lasting relationship between consumers in the northern hemisphere and artisans and entrepreneurs in Africa. While we are busy organising our chocolate launch, we are also working behind the scenes developing other product lines that bring more flavours and producers into the MIA community. We aim to awe consumers with delicious foods while connecting them with communities in Africa who make some of the best foods in the world!

With our first shipment of chocolate arriving this autumn, we’re confident you will be seeing MIA in shops very soon. Stay tuned for more information on MIA chocolate and more as we develop new relationships on one of the world’s most dynamic and interesting continents!
